Build the knowledge and confidence to lead in your community with Capilano University's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). The program combines academic excellence with hands-on learning to strengthen your skills in critical thinking, analytics, leadership and teamwork, preparing you for careers across industries.

According to the 2024 B.C. Student Outcomes Survey, 94 per cent of graduates are satisfied with the program and 82 per cent found employment related to their studies. The BBA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

Flexible learning with expert instruction

With flexible scheduling and in-person classes, you can balance your studies while connecting directly with faculty. You'll apply theory through case studies, team projects and simulations, taught by experienced instructors in economics, statistics, business law and strategic management. You will also have opportunities to compete and test your skills in real-world scenarios. You can tailor your degree with a concentration in Accounting; Business Information and Analytics (BIMA); Financial Planning; Human Resources Management; International Business and Logistics or Marketing.

Work-integrated learning and career readiness

Work-integrated learning is central to the BBA. Through part-time internships, full-time work experience terms and practicum programs, you'll gain practical experience before you graduate. Leigha Nevay, a Chartered Professional Accountant and program instructor, says, “You will receive experience working on real issues with real clients in today's market,” with “the opportunity to network with industry pros and colleagues and take part in time-constrained, real workplace situations, which will help you build your resume.”

You'll build in-demand skills in accounting, communications, event planning & promotions, finance, human resources, international business & logistics, marketing, operations management, public relations, sales and small business ownership, preparing you for roles in established organizations or your own business ventures. Program graduate Vrushant Zhadafiya describes the program as “an incredible journey,” highlighting the opportunity to learn from industry-leading instructors, work on WIL projects and with a diverse mix of classmates.

For graduate Alex Malcic, the program “has given me extensive opportunities to pursue my love for business through various competitions, through which I have garnered valuable knowledge and experience, and met many amazing people.”

Apollonia Giebel says the program helped her develop confidence speaking to community and business audiences while exploring her love for entrepreneurship. She is “Thankful and excited for what's next.”

Competitions, mentorship, and community

The program's case competitions connect you with employers seeking enthusiastic and driven candidates for internships and entry-level positions. You'll gain hands-on understanding of how to navigate the business world, competing in realistic simulations, with the chance to network and solicit feedback on how to improve from peers. Competitors from CapU have won regional and national titles, including placing second in the American Marketing Association (AMA) International Collegiate Conference 2025's case competition, competing among 331 collegiate chapters.

Through the Executive in Residence (EIR) program, you can receive mentorship from experienced business leaders and gain insight into real-world opportunities and challenges. In doing so, you can contribute to your personal and professional development and be a mentor to your peers.

Laura Kinderman, the dean of the faculty running the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, explains EIR “is unique because it provides students with advanced opportunities for direct interaction with a credible, experienced business leader who has navigated the kinds of uncertainty and volatility they will invariably confront in the world of work.”

Business executive, investor, educator and philanthropist, Keith Cross, who is CapU's first Executive in Residence encourages students to “take every opportunity to learn,” as it “gives the confidence to ask questions and let failure be your greatest teacher.” For him, his role “is to foster confidence and curiosity to help students take on the world.”

Student leadership and professional networks

You can also gain valuable work experience outside your courses as well. With student-led Enactus Capilano, you can earn course credit fostering your leadership skills, spearheading transformative projects that improve lives, working with businesses and communities to create meaningful change, while turning your passion into purpose.

There are also professional clubs and associations where you can have fun building your professional network, including the Capilano Business & Professional Society, the Capilano International Business Association and Young Women in Business Vancouver among others.
